Alice Roberts (1921-2014) was the first African-American student admitted to the school in 1942.

Chávez, María Teresa

María Teresa Chávez enrolled in the school in 1931 with a fellowship from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. She went on to become Director of the Library of Mexico and as well as a library educator. Select records from file are digitized.
